ANALISI MATEMATICA 1 PARTE B
Academic Year 2025/2026 - Teacher: Giuseppe DI FAZIOExpected Learning Outcomes
General learning objectives of the course in terms of expected learning outcomes.
Knowledge and understanding: The aim of the course is to impart the theoretical foundations and some applications related to Differential Calculus for functions of a single real variable.
Applying knowledge and understanding: The student will acquire the necessary skills to study simple models.
Making judgements: Through concrete examples and exercises, the student will be able to independently develop their own solutions to some straightforward problems.
Communication skills: The student will further develop communication skills and appropriate expressive use of theoretical language within the general context of Mathematical Analysis.
Learning skills: The course aims to provide the student with the necessary theoretical and practical methodologies to independently approach and solve problems that may arise during project work.
Course Structure
Lectures are traditionally delivered at the blackboard. Students must acquire the rigorous methods of Mathematical Analysis. This goal will be achieved showing examples and results with proofs. Most of them are then discussed in detail with the students.
Required Prerequisites
Attendance of Lessons
Detailed Course Content
Differential and integral calculus. Ordinary differential equations.

Learning Assessment
Learning Assessment Procedures
After passing the written exam, an oral interview must be taken.
The assessment will mainly consider: clarity of exposition, completeness of knowledge, and the ability to connect different topics. The student must demonstrate having acquired a sufficient understanding of the main subjects covered during the course and be able to complete at least the simpler assigned exercises. No average score will be calculated between the written exam and the oral interview.
The following criteria will normally be used for assigning the grade:
-
Fail: The student has not acquired the basic concepts and is unable to complete the exercises.
-
18-23: The student demonstrates a minimum grasp of the basic concepts, modest skills in presenting and linking the content, and can solve simple exercises.
-
24-27: The student shows a good command of the course content, good skills in presentation and linking the topics, and solves exercises with few errors.
-
28-30 with distinction: The student has mastered all course material and can present it thoroughly and critically; exercises are solved completely and correctly.
Assessment of learning may also be conducted remotely, should circumstances require it.
