REGULATIONS

According to the Degree Programme regulations, the final dissertation must be carried out under the supervision of a thesis advisor, who normally belongs to the Degree Programme in Mathematics.

Students must register for the final examination sessions exclusively through the online procedures available on the Student Portal (see Study Programme Handbook).

Students are considered eligible for graduation if, by 1 October of each year, they have no more than 30 ECTS credits remaining (including the final examination credits) to complete their degree, and if they have submitted the thesis assignment request through the Student Portal by the same deadline.

The registration procedure for the final examination consists of the following steps:

  1. Online application submitted within two months before the opening of the session;
  2. Completion of all remaining exams no later than 12 days before the opening of the session;
  3. Submission of the thesis file in PDF/A format 12 days before the opening of the session.

The supervisor:

  1. accepts or rejects the thesis assignment request;
  2. confirms the thesis file 10 days before the opening of the session.

Students may move their graduation to a later session by cancelling the previous application. If the postponement results in a change of academic year, a new revenue stamp (marca da bollo) must be paid.
