Graduation
To obtain the Master's degree, students are required to prepare a written dissertation, which must be written independently under the supervision of a supervisor from the Master's Degree Programme in Mathematics or from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
The dissertation – 21 ECTS credits – may be written in Italian or English. The autonomous preparation of the final dissertation serves to verify the acquisition of competences and mastery of the standard techniques of scientific communication in the field of mathematics. Part of the preparatory work for the dissertation may also be carried out in the form of a placement or abroad. Students who spend a period abroad to prepare their dissertation may be granted up to 12 of the aforementioned 21 ECTS credits according to the procedures set out in Article 29 of the University Teaching Regulations.
