Measurement-induced entanglement transitions
Abstract: In this talk I will introduce the measurement-induced entanglement transitions. I will start by defining the entanglement and by discussing one of the possible entanglement monotone, the entanglement entropy. Then I will introduce the Lindblad formalism to describe the dynamics of open quantum systems. I will discuss two stochastic dynamics giving rise the same Lindblad equations and the connection with the measurement processes and the entanglement dynamics. Finally I will present two examples of measurement-induced entanglement transitions in the Ising chain, one driven by measurements of local operators, the other driven by measurements of nonlocal operators.
