Admission Requirements

The Master's degree programme in Mathematics is an open-access course of study.
The admission assessment is designed to verify the adequacy of candidates' preparation and consists of an interview to ascertain the knowledge and skills required for enrolment. The interview will take place on the date, at the venue and at the time published on the University website: www.unict.it. Successful candidates may proceed with enrolment according to the matriculation and registration procedures for degree programmes that will be published on www.unict.it.

To be admitted to the Master's degree programme in Mathematics, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree or three-year university diploma, or another qualification obtained abroad and recognised as suitable.

Specific entry requirements:
Having acquired at least 72 ECTS credits relating to courses in the Scientific Disciplinary Sectors MAT/01-09, of which at least:

  • 12 ECTS credits in S.D.S. MAT/02,
  • 12 ECTS credits in S.D.S. MAT/03,
  • 18 ECTS credits in S.D.S. MAT/05;
  • fluent use of the English language, in both written and oral form, including discipline-specific vocabulary (level B1).

The Admission Committee verifies that candidates meet the curricular requirements through analysis of their personal curriculum, subject to the provisions of the University Teaching Regulations regarding the assessment of non-obsolescence of knowledge content for credits obtained more than 6 years previously.

Subsequently, the Committee verifies candidates' adequate preparation through an individual interview.

Adequate preparation is considered verified if the candidate has obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics with a final mark of at least 100 out of 110 and holds a B1 level English language certificate or has passed a university English language course attesting the achievement of this level.
