PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

Academic Year 2024/2025 - Teacher: Giuseppe DI FAZIO

Expected Learning Outcomes

Students must know principal properties of partial differential operators.

Course Structure

Topics are set in a theoretical framework although they may be applied to Engineering and Physics. Lectures are delivered at the blackboard.  A limited number of hours is devoted to exercises and problems. Students may try to solve exercises even through collaboration among them.

Required Prerequisites

Mathematical Analysis in one and several variables. Measure Theory.

Attendance of Lessons

Attending all classes is strongly recommended.

Detailed Course Content

First elements on partial differential equations. Introduction to generalized solutions. Theory of distributions. Regularity problem for certain elliptic-type equations.
