
Andrea GIACOBBE
I was born in Venice on December 28, 1970. After obtaining my bachelor's degree from the University of Padova, I moved to the United States to pursue a PhD at the University of Maryland, College Park. Upon completing my doctorate, I undertook a two-year postdoctoral research fellowship at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, followed by another two-year postdoctoral position at the University of Padova. My tenured academic career began in January 2005, when I was appointed as a Assistant Professor at the University of Padova. In March 2016, I was appointed Associate Professor at the University of Catania. In March 2025 I became Full Professor at the same university.
My main research interests are:
- the geometry of Hamiltonian and non-holonomic systems
- the dynamics of epidemiological systems
- the stability in fluid dynamics
- Participant to the project Liceo Matematico
