Learning Objectives

Learning of advanced numerical techniques and code writing to solve main problems in Numerical Linear Algebra.


Course Structure

Slides, exercises and Matlab codes.

Should teaching be carried out in mixed mode or remotely, it may be necessary to introduce changes with respect to previous statements, in line with the programme planned and outlined in the syllabus.


Detailed Course Content

SVD decomposition. QR fattorization. Min-square methods. Refinement of numerical solutions of linear systems by direct methods. Iterative procedures to solve sparse linear systems: matrix decomposition and Krylov methods. Preconditioning.
