I work as an Associate Professor of Condensed Matter Physics at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Catania, Italy.
I also serve as Tutor at the Scuola Superiore di Catania (University College).
I have served as Chairman of the European High Pressure Research Group (EHPRG) (2009-2012), Secretary of the International Association for the Advancement of High Pressure Science and Technology (AIRAPT) (2007-2013), Referente Locale of the Italian Physical Society (SIF) (currently), President of the local research unit of the Consorzio Nazionale Interuniversitario per le Scienze fisiche della Materia (CNISM).
I serve as co-editor (with Professor N. H. March) of Physics and Chemistry of Liquids.

I am mainly concerned with condensed matter theory, and my research interests include: superconductivity, graphene, high pressure physics.
I teach (or I have taught) Many-body theory, Structure of matter, Solid state physics, Statistical field theory, Superconductivity and superfluidity, Electromagnetism, Electrodynamics, Mathematical methods for physics, Numerical methods for physics (see Teaching for more details).
