Learning Objectives

  • Knowledge and understanding: starting from a particular problem of simple formulation, the student will learn to analyze it with the help of specific IT tools;
  • Applying knowledge and understanding: due to its strongly applied structure, the course lends itself to developing the skills to apply the acquired ones;
  • Making judgments: the use of the IT tool requires a strong critical sense. In various situations the computer will provide "answers" in the form of raw data or with graphical representations, the student will have to understand if such answers are plausible or not;
  • Communication skills: the course is particularly oriented towards communication. The study of the proposed situations and problems obliges the student to organize the material;
  • Learning skills: students will be stimulated to work in groups, a way that allows comparison and collaboration among peers.

Frontal lesson, participated lesson, laboratory teaching, group work


Detailed Course Content

The course foresees that the students will be able to master three distinct versatile software used in the teaching of mathematics, namely GeoGebra, Excel and Kahoot. Part of the course will be dedicated to acquire the ability to manipulate such software; another part of the course will be dedicated to the development of awareness of the teaching potential of these tools.
