Paolo LORETO

Paolo Loreto is Professor for Startup and Business Model at the University of Catania, Italy, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science. 

Paolo is also Professor for Public Utilities Management at the University of Catania, Italy, Department of Business and Economics and Professor for Organizational Behavior at the University of Catania, Italy, Department of Medical And Surgical Sciences and Advanced Technologies - Master's Degree in Health Professions of Rehabilitation Sciences.

He is also Professor for Organizational Behavior at the Link University, Rome and Catania, Italy and Professor of Organizational Behavior and Tourism Network at the University of Catania, Italy, Faculty of Business and Economics.

He was Professor of Business Management at Arcadia University - The College of Global Studies, USA.

With a Bachelor Degree in Business and Economics, he got  the M.B.A. (Master in Business Administration) at I.S.I.D.A. (Istituto Superiore per Imprenditori e Dirigenti di Azienda – Higher Institute for Entrepreneurs and Company Executives) of Palermo, Italy, in cooperation with Columbia University, New York, U.S.A.; he also got the Qualification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and  Business Consultant at the University of Catania,  Italy

Paolo gained a high-level experience in Business and Administration, Finance and Organization, as a result of over 30-years experience as top-manager in international companies, US corporations and local firms, in position of Finance Director, Controller, Finance Manager, CFO, Managing Director.

He was Region Finance Manager for US corporation Baker Hughes Inc. (oilfield business), Managing Director at Etna HiTech (ICT business), Managing Director at Tecnosleeves s.r.l. (plastic business), Finance Controller at Cyanamid Italia s.p.a. - Wyeth Lederle (pharmaceutical business), Executive Management Consultant at the Science and Technology Park of Sicily PSTS (Research and Development business); he cooperated with Moody’s Investors Services, New York, USA (finance business), where developed a deep knowledge of the financial tools (asset backed securities) operating in the US market.

Paolo attended the Management M.T.I. (Management Training Institute) in Houston, USA and  the E.L.P. (English Language Program) training at the University of California - Berkeley, USA.

Ha was Past President of the Plastic Section at “Associazioni degli Industriali della Provincia di Siracusa” (Confindustria) and Member of the Executive Council at Confindustria Siracusa from 2004 to 2006.

Currently Paolo is a business consultant for SME’s, operating as high-profile expert in Business Management, Organization, Business Network, Finance, Human Resources Management, Marketing, Auditing, Project-Management, Corporate Finance, Venture Capital, Tourism; he got important collaborations with public administrations and the most important corporations and firms operating in the territory.

During last years has been involved in R&D projects, market researches and business planning activities to support the growth, organizational change and market development for Italian SME’s.

His scientific interests are related to entrepreneurship, family business, finance, auditing, strategic management, business organization and human resources management.

Paolo actively participates in conferences, workshops and invited lectures in the subjects related to his experience and expertise.
