Carmelo Antonio FINOCCHIARO

Associate Professor of Algebra [MAT/02]

Carmelo Antonio Finocchiaro works at the University of Catania since 2018 and he is Associated Professor in Algebra and Geometry since December 2021. 

In 2017-2018 he was assistant professor in Algebra and Geometry at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Padova. 

He is teaching in both master degree course and bachelor degree course in Mathematics and in the bachelor degree course in Engineering. 

His research areas are Commutative Algebra and General Topology.

Research activity of Carmelo Antonio Finocchiaro is involved in the research area of application of General Topology in Commutative Algebra, with enphasis in Multiplicative Ideal Theory. He works on spectral spaces of rings and modules, valuation theory, and on ring extensions satisfying prescribed properties: fiber products, amalgamation algebras and quotients of the Rees algebra.
